Huskers Down Gophers, Record First Big Ten Win

Alonzo Verge Jr. scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half and Nebraska earned its first conference win of the season, beating Minnesota 78-65.
The Huskers shot 58 percent after halftime. NU’s defense held the Gophers to 39 percent shooting for the game and forced 18 turnovers. The win snapped a 10-game losing streak and lifted Nebraska to 7-17 overall and 1-12 in the Big Ten.
The Huskers visit Iowa Sunday at 1 p.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.
