Huskers Choke at Iowa; Projections on NU’s Bowl Destination

Despite once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in an embarrassing 13-10 loss at Iowa last Friday, Nebraska’s 6-6 football team will definitely go bowling.

After last weekend, there are 82 eligible teams for 82 spots in bowls.  Following this  Saturday’s conference championship games, the 12-team College Football Playoffs and bowl games will be announced Sunday from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. on ESPN.

Projections on where the Huskers are headed and who they’ll play as of yesterday: the Music City Bowl in Nashville December 30th vs. LSU according to 247Sports; the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City December 28th vs. Duke says the Sporting News, while Jerry Palm of CBS Sports agrees it’s the Big Apple, but against Boston College; ESPN’s two writers disagree as one has Nebraska going to the Rate Bowl in Phoenix December 26th vs. Texas Tech, while the other says Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte January 3rd to face Duke; that same pick of Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Duke is made by Athlon Sports; the College Football Network says the GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit December 26th vs. Buffalo.

The funniest prediction was seen on an Inside Nebraska online forum: a Saturday night post asked “Where are we going?”  The first reply: “Hell I reckon.”
