Huskers, Bluejays Both Jump Three Spots in Volleyball Top 25
Nebraska and Creighton volleyball both jumped three spots in yesterday’s new AVCA Top 25.
The Huskers climbed from fifth to No. 2, while the Bluejays rose from No. 9 to sixth. NU posted sweeps last week over Stanford, which slipped one spot to No. 3, and Louisville which moved from fourth to No. 5. At No. 6, CU has earned its best ranking in program history. That was after a program first when the Jays recorded back-to-back Top 10 wins last weekend in Lawrence, Kansas, beating Purdue and the host Jayhawks.
Also on Monday, Creighton swept all four Big East weekly awards. Norah Sis was named the conference’s top offensive player, Kendra Wait was tabbed as best setter, Kiara Reinhardt was recognized as the top defensive player, and Jaya Johnson won the freshman-of-the-week award.
