Huskers, Sooners A Day Closer to Renewing Football Rivalry

It’s not number 1 against number 2 like it was on Thanksgiving Day in 1971 when Nebraska topped Oklahoma 35-31 in the Game of the Century. But, after 50 years the rivalry and history between the former Big 8 and Big 12 rivals is still being reflected on by fans and the media.
On Saturday, unranked NU will take a 2-1 record to Norman. The Blackshirts have allowed only 10 points combined in the past two games, albeit against Fordham and Buffalo. Third-ranked OU is 2-0. The Sooners had a shaky 40-35 season-opening win over Tulane, before romping over Western Carolina 76-0 last Saturday.
Kickoff this Saturday is set for 11 a.m. The pregame starts at 7 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
