Husker Volleyball Sweeps Wisconsin to Advance to NCAA Semifinals

Nebraska volleyball swept Wisconsin for the third time this season on Sunday, as the Huskers advanced to the NCAA semifinals.

NU will meet Penn State in Thursday night’s second semifinal, following Pitt at Louisville, which has a 5:30 p.m. first serve.  The approximate first serve time for the Huskers and Nittany Lions Thursday is 8 p.m., with the pregame expected to begin at 7 p.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.

Nebraska is headed to the national semifinals for the second straight year and the seventh time in the past 10 seasons.  The Huskers defense stymied the Badgers yesterday, as NU improved to 33-2.

Sunday’s victory was Nebraska’s 26th straight home win in the NCAA Tournament, a school record.  Overall, the Huskers own the nation’s longest home winning streak at 45 matches.
