Husker Men’s Basketball Team Holds First Practice

The Nebraska mens’ basketball team opened practice yesterday.

Coach Fred Hoiberg is beginning his fourth season at NU.  Returning players this season include senior forward Derrick Walker, who averaged 9.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season.  Also back is sophomore guard C.J. Wilcher, who averaged better than eight points a game and hit 52 three-pointers.

Nebraska retooled its roster by adding three Division I transfers and a recruiting class that ranked in the top 30 nationally by both Rivals and 247Sports.

Fans can get their first look at the team this Friday at Opening Night with Husker Hoops.  Free tickets for the 7 p.m. event, which also features the Nebraska women’s team, can be claimed at Huskers.com/Tickets.
