Husker Baseball Has Rematch vs. Ohio State on Tap Friday

Nebraska’s baseball team will have a rematch with Ohio State in today’s Big Ten tournament in Omaha. 

The Buckeyes were downed by Indiana 14-7 in yesterday’s bracket one game at “the Chuck.”  The third-seeded Hoosiers won ugly, as their pitchers issued a Big Ten tourney record 13 walks.  Indiana jumped into the bracket’s drivers’ seat with a 2-0 record. 

Ohio State and Nebraska are both 1-1 and will meet in an elimination game today at 2 p.m.  The pregame starts at 1:30 on News Talk 900 KJSK.  In Tuesday’s opening round, the Buckeyes shellacked the Huskers 15-2 in seven innings. 

In bracket two action Thursday, number-8 seed Penn State beat fourth-seeded Michigan 9-5, sending the Nittany Lions into Saturday’s semifinals with a 2-0 record.  The Wolverines slipped to 1-1 and face top-seeded Illinois in an elimination contest tonight at 7 p.m.  The Illini stayed alive yesterday with a 4-2 victory in an elimination game against Iowa.
