Highlights of Thursday’s Class A & B State Track Meet

It was the second and final day for Classes A and B at the state track meet Thursday in Omaha. 

Jackson Roberts of Boone Central captured a gold medal for the second straight year in the Class B boys 300 hurdles.  Elizabeth Wemhoff of Columbus High was the top city finisher, placing second in the Class A girls 200.

Central City’s Tyler Carroll took second in the Class B boys 110 hurdles.  Claire Primrose of Boone Central was fourth in the B girls triple jump.  Sixth place medals went to Wemhoff in the Class A girls 100, Lakeview’s Braxton Borer in the 110 hurdles and Roberts in the long jump.  Seventh place medals were claimed by Lakeview’s Landon Ternus in the B boys 100, Borer in the 300 hurdles and Schuyler’s Nicholas Hernandez in the B boys discus.

The Scotus boys 1600 relay team of Cohen Pelan, Jackson Heng, Jude Maguire and Owen Lindhorst broke the school record while finishing in seventh place.  And Columbus High took eighth place in the A boys 1600 relay with a team of Heath Dahlke, Alex Ienn, Isaiah Eilers and Adoriyan Daniels.  Lakeview’s Turner Halvorsen finished eighth in the B boys 800.
