Held: Husker RB’s “Can’t Tiptoe Through the Tulips”

Nebraska running backs coach Ryan Held said coaches are “getting closer” to knowing who’ll be the starter at that position for the Huskers’ season opener at Illinois on August 28th.

Held declined to give reporters a running back depth chart following yesterday’s practice, but said “it’s starting to work itself through.”  Held said there’s a lot of competition among NU’s young stable of running backs.  He admitted when last season ended, Husker coaches weren’t satisfied with “what that position needs to be at Nebraska.”

Held commented that the Huskers have to be physical running in the Big Ten.  As he put it: “We can’t tiptoe through the tulips.”
