In a Nebraska spring game format that pitted the White defense against the Red offense with a modified scoring system, the White D won 43-39. A crowd of more than 54,000 fans watched Saturday’s game at Memorial Stadium.
The Red offense was guided by six different quarterbacks. Texas transfer Casey Thompson started the game and finished 3-of-4 for 31 yards passing. Heinrich Haarberg completed 4-of-7 passes for a team-high 78 yards and one touchdown.
On defense, Columbus High graduate Ernest Hausmann tied for second with seven tackles, adding one tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry.
