Hall of Fame Coach Eddie Sutton Passes Away

Former Creighton men’s basketball coach Eddie Sutton has died.  The Hall of Fame coach was 84. 

Sutton’s family said in a statement Saturday night he died of natural causes at his Tulsa-area home, surrounded by his three sons and their families.  His wife Patsy died in 2013. 

Last month, Sutton was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.  His teams went to 25 NCAA Tournaments.  He was the first coach to take four schools to the national tourney and led three teams to the Final Four.
