Gretna Stripped of Class A State Football Title

Gretna High has been stripped of its 2021 Class A state football championship.

The NSAA board voted 8-0 yesterday to uphold executive director Jay Bellar’s ruling that the Dragons used an ineligible player last season.  He had ruled that junior receiver Tyson Boganowski had not changed his domicile by NSAA rules when he transferred from Papillion-La Vista South.

Gretna beat Omaha Westside 7-3 in the November title game at Memorial Stadium.  Boganowski had six receptions for 46 yards in the championship.  The Dragons will have to give up their trophy but the players will be allowed to keep their medals.  There will be no champion listed by the NSAA for 2021.
