Gordon Named Torch Lighter at CSG Opening Cermonies

Alex Gordon was announced Tuesday as the torch lighter for the Cornhusker State Games opening ceremonies.  They will take place at Seacrest Field in Lincoln on Friday, July 16th, starting at 8 p.m. 

Gordon, the former baseball star with Lincoln Southeast High, Nebraska and the Kansas City Royals, will meet athletes from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Den Hartog Field. 

The ceremonies will also include a parade of athletes, skydivers, fireworks and other festivities.  It officially kicks off the 37th annual games, with competition in more than 70 sports from July 16-25.
