Governor Pete Ricketts has announced new directed health measures for June which are good news for volleyball and rodeo and give a green light for car races.

Volleyball has joined baseball and softball as youth sports that can begin practice June 1st and competition on June 18th.  However, contact sports like football, basketball, wrestling and soccer are still prohibited due to COVID-19 concerns.

Also, in all but four counties hit hardest by the coronavirus, gatherings up to 25 percent of rated occupancy – with a maximum of 3,000 fans – are allowed.

That guideline will allow car races and rodeos to be held.  The national high school rodeo finals are scheduled to take place in Lincoln this July.
