Girls Golf Team Makes State, Lasso District Runnerup

The Columbus High girls golf team is heading to the Class A state tournament. As a team, the Discoverers finished third in yesterday’s A-3 district tournament at Holmes Golf Course in Lincoln.
Sarah Lasso fired a 73 to earn second place individually, three strokes behind Nicole Kolbas of Lincoln Pius X. Jacey Hughes carded an 83 to earn seventh place. Columbus shot a 346 to earn its first team trip to state since 2017.
The Class A tournament will be held in Norfolk next Monday and Tuesday. In yesterday’s B-3 district tourney at York, Schuyler carded a team score of 495 with no Warriors making it to state.
