Girls Golf, Goc Earn Second in Triangular; CHS Postponements

The Columbus High girls golf team finished second as a team and Molly Goc of the Discoverers was second individually in a triangular Monday at Fremont Golf Club.

The event against Norfolk and Fremont was shortened from 18 to nine holes due to excessive heat.  Goc shot a 40 to finish second by one stroke.  Norfolk had the top team score at 193, eleven strokes better than Columbus.

Coach Anne Robertson says the Discoverers have withdrawn from today’s Beatrice Invite due to the heat.

Columbus High’s online calendar lists other postponements, apparently heat-related.  The Discoverers softball team’s doubleheader against Lincoln Southwest this evening in Lincoln has been postponed, as has the boys tennis club’s home dual against Grand Island on Thursday.
