The Nebraska football team kicked off spring practice yesterday.  After the workout, Coach Scott Frost said he saw “a lot of energy” and noted in the offseason the players “definitely made some improvements in the weight room.”

Frost admitted quarterback Adrian Martinez is a “little limited” following offseason surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. With Noah Vedral and Luke Gifford also at the QB spot, Frost was asked if there’s a true competition at quarterback this spring.

“Every position is true competition and quarterback is no different,” Frost said. “Sometimes we treat those guys like they’re in a glass case and you can’t touch them.  But, we have always said we are going to play the best guy at every position.”

The Huskers spring will culminate with the Red-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 18th.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and tickets are still available at huskers.com, or by calling 1-800-8-BIG-RED.
