Frost: Focus is on Cutting Down on Offensive Mistakes
After taking Monday off, the Nebraska football team returns to the practice field today for its second week of fall camp.
Coach Scott Frost said the players’ “effort and attitude have been really good.” Frost said he has been pleasantly surprised by USC transfer running back Markese Stepp’s progress returning from an injury. While noting that the Huskers ranked second in the Big Ten in rushing last season, NU was near the bottom of the league in points per drive. “I think that discrepancy largely is just mistakes that we made: negative plays, turnovers, bad snaps, penalties…that’s where our focus is,” Frost said.
Frost added: “I want a team that never beats itself and plays tough.” Nebraska kicks off its season on August 28th at Illinois.
