Nebraska football coach Scott Frost said yesterday he is “fired up” about Ernest Hausmann.

The Columbus High senior was among 13 scholarship recruits and four walk-ons officially added to the Huskers’ 2022 roster on signing day Wednesday.  Frost noted that while Hausmann has not played football his whole life, he sees the potential for him to have an elite career.  Frost said he’s really excited about NU’s whole recruiting class.

“We don’t have a lot of spots on our roster as it stands today, “Frost said. “We were really selective with the kids that we decided to recruit and take, and I think through that selective process, we landed on some really good guys that we feel good about being able to help us right now and develop into really good football players.”

Frost said the recruiting process is changing, adding it will continue through the Christmas break and through the next signing period.  The next letter-of-intent period begins on February 2nd.
