Nebraska football coach Scott Frost talked about a variety of topics last night on Sports Nightly, heard on News Talk 900 KJSK. Voluntary workouts began on June 1st and Frost said the majority of Husker players are “almost football ready right now.”

On receiver JD Spielman recently entering the transfer portal, Frost said “both parties were pretty sure that a fresh start and moving on was probably the right decision at this point.”  He was asked how much NU will lean on Wan’Dale Robinson at receiver.  “Well, he’s going to have to be a big part of it,” Frost said.  Frost also mentioned that Kade Warner is back, but added that offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Matt Lubick is going to “have to earn his spot as a coach trying to get some new talent ready.”

Frost said communication is a key for his team with the ongoing protests against police brutality and racial injustice.  He said, “If there’s anybody in America that doesn’t feel terrible about what happened and think it was absolutely disgusting and inexcusable, I don’t know how to relate to them.”
