Frost Coming Back, Four Assistant Coaches Fired

Nebraska football coach Scott Frost will be back for a fifth season, but he has parted ways with four of his assistants.
Huskers athletic director Trev Alberts announced yesterday that Frost has agreed to a restructured contract. It reportedly cuts his annual salary from $5 million to $4 million and also cuts his buyout.
Alberts said Frost “has laid out a clear plan and vision for the future of Nebraska football.”
Frost announced he has fired offensive coordinator Matt Lubick, O-line coach Greg Austin, running backs coach Ryan Held and quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco.
In guiding NU to a 15-27 record, Frost admitted: “I understand we have not won at a high enough level, but I am confident our football program will continue to take steps forward.”
