Frost Addresses Challenges of Preparing for Illinois

Nebraska football coach Scott Frost said Monday his team is having fun and practicing hard for the Huskers’ season opener at Illinois.  In advance of Saturday’s game, 12 defensive players were given Blackshirts yesterday.

Frost was asked how difficult it is to prepare for the Fighting Illini, since they have a new coaching staff.  “Yeah, there’s some challenges to playing a team that has a new staff,” Frost acknowledged. “We didn’t play very well against them last year, made some mistakes.  We need to play better this year.  I think the guys are locked in on that.”

On Saturday, the Huskers will be trying to avenge a 41-23 home loss to Illinois last November.  Kickoff is set for shortly after noon. The pre-game starts at 8 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 11:30 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
