Four area prep football teams will be playing in three different semifinals on Friday, looking to win for a chance to play for a state championship in Lincoln.

In Class C1, fifth-seeded Central City takes its 10-1 record to Sidney, which is the No. 1 seed and 11-0.  That game will kick off at 6 p.m. Central time and will be broadcast on KZ-100.

In the D2 semifinals, top-seeded Archangels Catholic is 11-0 and will host 4-seed Central Valley, which is 10-1.  The 7 p.m. game will be aired on KLIR 101.  And on 93.5 The Hawk, it’s a 5 p.m. kickoff in Spalding, as 6-seed Riverside takes its 9-2 mark up against No. 2 BDS, unbeaten at 11-0.

Area clubs that bowed out of the playoffs last Friday included Lakeview, which fell to Central City 19-7 in the C1 quarterfinals as the Vikings finished 10-1.  In D1, Shelby-Rising City was shut out at Sandy Creek 54-0 to end the Huskies season at 9-2.  And in D2, Howells-Dodge ended with an 8-3 record after a 24-6 loss to Archangels in Humphrey.
