Former NU Volleyball Player, Other Women Sue NCAA
The state’s two largest newspapers are reporting that a federal lawsuit has been filed against the NCAA, partly for alleged actions at the University of Nebraska.
Reports in the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star say the suit alleges instances of rape and sexual harassment committed against women by male student-athletes. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Michigan by seven women, four who attended NU.
One of the plaintiffs is former Husker volleyball player Capri Davis, who took a leave of absence from NU’s team last year before she transferred to Texas.
The lawsuit alleges that UNL failed to act in a timely manner because males on Nebraska sports teams were involved.
