Former Nebraska pitcher Nate Fisher pitched three scoreless innings of relief in his major league debut for the New York Mets yesterday, helping the Mets rally for a 10-9 win at Philadelphia.
Fisher, who was called up by the Mets earlier in the day, was working at First National Bank of Omaha last year before resuming his professional baseball career. The 26-year old lefty had pitched for Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse this season.
Fisher capped his four years at Nebraska by going 7-3 with a 3.27 ERA in 15 starts in his senior season in 2019.
