Former Huskers McVeigh, Tominaga Make Olympic Debuts
A pair of former Nebraska basketball players made their Olympic debuts Saturday at the Paris Olympics.
Jack McVeigh keyed a win for Australia against Spain, while Keisei Tominaga and Japan dropped its opener to Germany.
McVeigh came off the bench to score 13 points and grab seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action as Australia beat Spain 92-80. Tominaga saw limited action in Japan’s 97-77 loss to Germany. He went scoreless in the final minute of the first half. On Tuesday, Australia takes on Canada and Japan faces France.
