Former Huskers Jordan Larson and Justine Wong-Orantes both started for Team USA women’s volleyball as it opened Pool B in the Tokyo Olympics with a win.  The U.S. swept Argentina on Saturday, winning 25-20, 25-19, 25-20. 

Larson finished with eight kills, one block, one service ace and five digs.  Wong-Orantes was credited with six digs, one shy of the team high.  The number one-ranked Americans will take on China tonight. 

In women’s beach volleyball on Sunday, former Husker Sarah Pavan was dominant in helping Canada move to 2-0 in pool play.  Pavan had 17 kills and seven blocks in Canada’s 2-0 sweep of Germany.  In Canada’s opening-round 2-0 sweep over the Netherlands on Friday, Pavan had 11 kills and four blocks.  Canada meets Switzerland on Wednesday night.
