Former Husker Hired as Vibe’s Head Coach, Supernovas Sign Serb

Former Nebraska volleyball player and assistant coach Kayla Banwarth will be coaching against the Omaha Supernovas next season.

Banwarth has been hired as the head coach of the Atlanta Vibe.  After leaving NU, Banwarth was the head coach at Ole Miss and worked in club volleyball in Arizona.

Last season the Vibe had the best regular season record at 19-6, but the Supernovas won the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation championship.

Meanwhile, the Supernovas have signed outside hitter Jovana Mirolsavljevic.  She’s a nine-year professional from Serbia, who’ll be playing in the United States for the first time after spending time in Serbia, Romania and Germany.

She helped a team in Stuttgart, Germany to several titles last season.
