Former Husker and Columbus Resident Pensick Dies in Crash

Husker Nation is mourning the death of former offensive lineman and Columbus resident Cole Pensick. 

He died in a one-vehicle accident on Saturday in Polk County.  The 32-year old Pensick was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. 

Pensick’s pickup truck left the roadway and crashed into trees near 141st and Q roads about 6:45 a.m.  He was not wearing a seat belt. 

Pensick played center and guard for Nebraska from 2009 to 2013, after starring at Lincoln Northeast High School.
