Former CU, NU Women’s Hoops Coach Connie Yori Retires
After a 36-year basketball coaching career at Creighton and Nebraska, including 26 seasons as a head coach, Connie Yori has announced her retirement.
Yori began her women’s basketball journey as a player for Creighton in 1982. She graduated in 1986 as CU’s leading scorer with 2,010 points, which still ranks third all-time. She served as the Bluejays assistant coach from 1986 to 1989, followed by 11 seasons leading Creighton, then 15 seasons as Nebraska’s head coach. Yori has been a program advisor for the Jays the past seven seasons.
She compiled a record of 457-306 as a head coach, guiding nine teams to the NCAA tournament.
