Flyers, Eagles Shot Down at State Volleyball

Humphrey St. Francis and Nebraska Christian were both ousted from the state volleyball tournament today. 

The D2 quarterfinals were held this morning at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  The Flyers and Eagles were both downed by their opponents in four sets. 

Top seeded Diller-Odell opened the day by rallying to beat Nebraska Christian 23-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-10.  Number 4 seed Sacred Heart also came back to defeat St. Francis 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-23. 

The Eagles ended the season with an 18-9 record, while the Flyers went 26-3. 

Other matches to be broadcast on 93.5 The Hawk today include a C2 quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Clarkson/Leigh and number 5 seed Howells-Dodge.  It’s expected to start around 8:30 p.m.
