Five Girls State Basketball Tourney Games On the Air

The girls state basketball tournament opens in Lincoln today and five games will be broadcast by Alpha Media. 

St. Paul meets Wahoo in a C1 quarterfinal at 10:45 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk. It’s the Wildcats’ first trip to Lincoln since 1993, when they won the Class B championship. 

In C2, Clarkson/Leigh battles Oakland-Craig at 2 p.m. on KLIR 101. The Patriots are making their first appearance at the state tourney as a co-op.

North Bend Central and West Point-Beemer square off in C1 action at 3:45 on The Hawk.  The Tigers are making their 11th trip to state and are seeking their first title since 2001.

A pair of D2 quarterfinals are on KZ-100 tonight. Humphrey St. Francis faces Sterling at 7 p.m. Flyers junior Allison Weidner is the top scorer in the tournament, averaging about 25 points per game.  She’ll try to help St. Francis earn a fourth state crown.

And BDS meets Mullen at 8:45. It’s the Eagles’ third straight year in the tournament.
