Elkhorn South, Lincoln East Win Senior Legion Class A Titles

In the Class A Senior Legion state tournaments on Wednesday, Elkhorn South claimed the National Division title in Hastings, while Lincoln East won the American Division crown in Bellevue.
Burke, which defeated Columbus in Hastings on Tuesday, fell to Pius 5-1 yesterday evening. In the championship, Elkhorn South thumped Pius 11-1 in six innings.
In Bellevue, Lincoln East beat defending champ Millard South 8-5. In the title tilt, the bats were as hot as the weather, with Lincoln East edging host Bellevue West 11-10.
Elkhorn South will face Lincoln East in a state championship this Saturday, with both teams advancing to a regional tournament.
