Eighth Grader Commits to Play Baseball for Nebraska

An eighth grader from Kansas has already committed to playing baseball at Nebraska.  Beau Peterson is a 14-year old from Shawnee, Kansas who is considered to be one of the top players for his age in the nation.

Peterson announced his pledge yesterday in an Instagram post, saying: “Doesn’t stop now.  I need to keep working and keep my ground to fit in.”

Peterson was selected to play in Perfect Game’s Select Festival this month in Norman, Oklahoma.  Peterson is 6-feet-1, 180 pounds.  As you might expect, he’s the first member of the Huskers’ 2026 recruiting class.
