Ryan Eickhoff tossed a complete game and Nick Zoucha drove in the game’s only run as the Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors stayed alive in the A6 area tournament on Sunday. 

Eickhoff held Lincoln North Star to two hits as Cornerstone prevailed 1-0 in an elimination game in South Sioux City.  The contest was scoreless until Zoucha’s game-deciding RBI in the top of the seventh.

Columbus opened the tourney with a 6-1 win over South Sioux City on Friday.  Juri Rivera had three hits and five RBI and Preston Hastreiter racked up nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings in the opener.  Cornerstone was downed by Lincoln Northeast 10-5 Saturday night.  Bently Willison smacked a two-run homer in the loss.  The Columbus seniors are 2-1 in the tournament and 20-8 on the season. 

Tonight, Cornerstone will take on Fremont in another elimination game.  The winner will move on to tomorrow’s championship and will need two wins over Lincoln Northeast, which is 2-0.
