Discoverers Sweep Tigers, Area Volleyball Scores

Columbus High volleyball won 3-0 at Hastings. The Discoverers tamed the Tigers 25-18, 25-17, 25-13.
Ellie Thompson led Columbus with 11 kills and two blocks, while Josie Garrett had eight kills and a team-high 14 digs.
The Discoverers are 10-11 and will host the Columbus Invitational on Saturday.
Area volleyball results: Clarkson/Leigh lost to Archbishop Bergan 3-1, Fullerton over Hampton 3-2, North Bend Central swept Twin River, Riverside swept St. Edward, Shelby-Rising City defeated East Butler 3-1, St. Paul swept Central City, Cross County beat Heartland 2-0 but fell to Hastings St. Cecilia in two sets, Howells-Dodge topped BRLD 2-0 but lost to Wisner-Pilger 2-0, and Madison bowed to Wisner-Pilger in two sets.
