DCB, Hickman Win American Legion Senior Titles

Two American Legion Senior baseball teams completed undefeated state tournament runs on Wednesday, with one beating an area club.

Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley was edged by Danebrog-Cairo-Boelus, 2-1 in eight innings at the Class C tournament.  DCB went 5-0 in Palmer, while PWG finished the tourney with a 3-2 record.

Meanwhile, Norris-Hickman – which had eliminated Lakeview from the Class B tournament on Tuesday – routed Alliance 14-1 in five innings in yesterday’s championship game.  Hickman won all five games it played in Crete, while Alliance went 3-2.
