D Coordinator Tony White Gets Big Raise From Nebraska

Nebraska’s best defensive showing in more than a decade has earned defensive coordinator Tony White a big raise.

White today received a $600,000 raise and will earn a salary of $1.6 million a year for the final two seasons of his contract.  NU said today that White has signed the restructured deal.

The Blackshirts allowed 303 yards a game this season, its lowest total since 2009.  The Huskers defense ranked 14th nationally, their first time in the top 25 since 2010.

White said he is proud of his players’ accomplishments this season and “is excited to build on that success moving forward.”
