CU Men Win at Nebraska, Huskers Lose McGowens to Injury

Creighton freshman Ryan Nembhard had 22 points, and Ryan Hawkins added 15 points and 10 rebounds to help the Bluejays down Nebraska 77-69 last night.

The victory at a sold-out Pinnacle Bank Arena pushed the Jays to 3-0 on the season, while the Huskers fell to 1-2.  Kobe Webster led Nebraska with a team-high 20 points off the bench. After the game, NU coach Fred Hoiberg said Trey McGowens broke a bone in his right foot.  He’ll meet with doctors before a time frame is set for his rehab.

CU is headed for the Virgin Islands to take part in the Paradise Jam, starting with a game against Brown Friday afternoon.  NU will host Idaho State Friday night.  Tipoff at “The Vault” is set for 6 p.m.
