CU Comeback Falls Short in Loss to Marquette

A comeback by No. 19 Creighton fell short in a 73-71 loss to Marquette last night in Omaha.
The Golden Eagles used a 43-21 spurt to build a 63-53 lead, then had to survive down the stretch after the Bluejays tied the game twice in the final 80 seconds. Marquette added to its lead in the Big East standings at 14-3, while CU fell into a tie for third place at 12-5.
The Jays visit Villanova Saturday at 11 a.m. on FOX.
