CU Athletics Mourning Death of Chris Gradoville

Creighton Athletics is mourning the death of Chris Gradoville.  The Bluejays director of baseball operations was killed in a shooting in Omaha yesterday. 

Omaha police have arrested a suspect on suspicion of first-degree murder and other charges. The 37-year old Gradoville was found fatally shot in the yard of a home near 61st and Pratt Streets. 

Gradoville joined CU’s baseball staff in 2020.  He was a standout catcher at Creighton from 2004 to 2007 after starring at Omaha Bryan. He was a 24th-round pick of the Texas Rangers in the 2007 MLB Draft and spent four seasons in the Rangers organization, reaching Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2010.
