Cross County Football Looks to Extend Unbeaten Season Friday

Cross County football will host Sandy Creek in a battle of unbeaten teams in tomorrow’s D1 quarterfinals.

Cross County also went undefeated in the regular season a year ago, but was upset by Weeping Water in the first round of the playoffs.  Coach Matt Carroll’s team has kept things rolling in the postseason this year, with a 30-point win over Wisner-Pilger and a 52-point victory over Perkins County.

“Our boys are playing well,” Carroll said.  “At the beginning of the season, we talked about as a team we want to be playing our best football through October and through November and I feel like we’re really doing that right now.  We’re really hitting our stride as a team.”

Tomorrow’s game has a 7 p.m. kickoff on KZ-100.
