Creighton’s baseball team has signed five new players who’ll join the Bluejays next season.

Sterling Hayes is a shortstop who was a reserve infielder for Vanderbilt the past two seasons and was a member of the Commodores’ 2019 College World Series championship team.

Zach Carden is a shortstop and pitcher from Eden Prairie, Minnesota who was ranked as the 15th best prospect in the state by Prep Baseball Report.

Brett Rodriguez is a speedy infielder from Wofford.  The graduate transfer posted a school record 85 stolen bases as a Terrier.

The other two additions both join Creighton from Furman after the Paladins cut the sport following the 2020 season.  Dax Roper is a catcher who can also play first base, while his Furman teammate David Webel is an outfielder.

The five additions bring CU’s recruiting class for the 2021 season to 12 players.
