Cornerstone Sweeps Home Twinbill Over GI U-Save

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors posted an impressive doubleheader sweep last night at Pawnee Park Field.  Cornerstone blanked Grand Island U-Save 11-0 in the opener, and won the nightcap 6-2. 

In the five-inning first game, Alex Ritzdorf pitched a one-hitter, throwing 32 of his 45 pitches for strikes.  Colin Flyr homered and doubled, Kaden Young had three hits and matched Flyr with three runs, and Tyler Wessel led Cornerstone with three RBI. 

Young drove in four of the Seniors’ six runs in the nightcap, while Flyr had two of Columbus’ five stolen bases.  Conner Rausch took a shutout into the sixth before allowing two runs.  Caleb Van Dyke finished with a scoreless seventh inning. 

Cornerstone is 7-11 and will play three games in Omaha tomorrow and Saturday.
