The Columbus Senior Legion team fell in a slugfest at home, while the Juniors suffered a pair of shutout losses on the road last night. 

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Seniors were outscored 17-15 by Kearney in a nine-inning contest at Pawnee Park Field.  Colin Flyr had four hits, including a home run, and drove in six runs for Columbus.  Sam Kwapnioski added three hits, three RBI and three runs in the loss. 

Kearney outhit the home team 21-12 and won despite committing nine errors.  Cornerstone is now 11-12 and will visit Norfolk tomorrow for a doubleheader. 

Meantime, the Columbus United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues lost at Kearney by scores of 8-0 and 1-0. 

In the nightcap, Ryan Eickhoff pitched a six-inning complete game, allowing only a first inning run.  He gave up three hits and had eight strikeouts.  But the Blues managed only one hit and fell to 7-15.  They’ll be at home tomorrow night for a twinbill against Norfolk. 

The lights will be on at Pawnee Park Field tonight.  The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors host Hooper-Scribner in a single game at 7 p.m.
