Cornerstone Falls as Elkhorn Scores Six Runs in Sixth Inning
The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors suffered their seventh straight loss as Elkhorn used a big sixth inning to win 9-2 at Pawnee Park Field.
Last night’s game was tied at 1-1 entering the top of the sixth when Elkhorn erupted for six runs. The visitors added two more runs in the seventh, before Columbus tallied once in its final at bat.
Kaden Young collected three hits for Cornerstone, which fell to 3-10 on the season.
The Columbus Seniors are scheduled to play a single game at Lincoln Southeast on Saturday, before hosting Waverly in a doubleheader on Sunday. First pitch of Sunday’s opener is slated for 12:30 p.m.
Lakeview’s two baseball clubs entertain West Point this evening, starting with the Junior Reds game at 5:30 p.m.
