Cornerstone Defeated 7-1 at Bennington

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors were downed 7-1 at Bennington last night. 

The home team jumped on Cornerstone starter Alex Ritzdorf for three runs in the first inning and added two more in the second to take a 5-0 lead.  Ritzdorf was chased in the sixth when Bennington tallied twice to make it 7-0. 

Columbus was able to avoid a shutout in the seventh, when the second hit of the night for Cole Wilcox plated the Seniors’ lone run.  Cornerstone fell to 11-15. 

The Seniors will wrap up their season tomorrow evening with a doubleheader at Grand Island.
