Columbus Seniors, Junior Blues Fall; Reds Win Again

The Columbus Cornerstone Seniors suffered a 2-0 loss to Kearney Wednesday night at Pawnee Park’s Legion Field. 

Columbus starter Spencer Shotkoski pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out a pair.  Kearney’s starter tossed a five-hit shutout.  The loss dropped Cornerstone to 9-8.  Columbus is set to host Fremont today at 6 p.m. 

In the early game last night, the OneNebraska Junior Blues fell to Kearney 6-1, slipping to 8-7.  The Junior Blues entertain South Sioux City Friday at 5 p.m. 

Meanwhile, the Columbus Owens Wealth Advisors Junior Reds won at Elkhorn South 8-4.  Kash Urkoski pitched four innings of scoreless relief and was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs.  Jaeston Delano had two hits including a home run and four RBI.  The Junior Reds improved to 10-2, 6-1 in league games.  They’ll play in a tournament at Creighton this weekend.
