Columbus Seniors Go 3-1, Juniors 1-3 on the Weekend
The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors finished with a 3-1 record this weekend at a tournament in Salina, Kansas.
Cornerstone won its first three games – 6-3 over Westerman, 9-6 over a Wichita club, and 8-5 in 10 innings over Millard North. In their final game, the Seniors were edged by Salina 2-1. Cornerstone is 17-11 and will host Blair tomorrow at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Columbus United Federal Credit Junior Blues went 1-3 in a tournament at Lincoln. The Junior Blues fell to Gretna 11-1 on Friday. On Saturday, the Juniors were shaded by Lincoln Pius X 1-0, then bounced back to defeat Omaha Gross 9-3. They dropped a 6-2 decision to Great Bend, Kansas yesterday. The Junior Blues are 12-16 and will welcome the Millard Black Sox to Pawnee Park Field tomorrow at 5 p.m.
