Columbus Seniors End Three-Game Losing Skein

A three-game losing skid was snapped by the Columbus Cornerstone Seniors Thursday night.

Alex Griffith pitched a six-inning complete game gem as Cornerstone beat Fremont 10-2 at Pawnee Park’s Legion Field.  Griffith allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits.  He racked up 10 strikeouts, walking only batter and hitting one with a pitch.

Third baseman Grant Zoucha went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs, and a stolen base.  Spencer Shotkoski and Bentley Willison also drove in two runs apiece as Columbus moved to 10-and-10 on the season.

Cornerstone is set to welcome South Sioux City to Pawnee Park tonight.  First pitch is expected at 7:30 p.m. following the OneNebraska Junior Blues game that starts at 5 p.m.
